I believe that the network of the reciprocal clubs is one of the most valuable asset of the Club. Also, relating with other Clubs gives us the opportunity to understand where we are coming from and where we are going, without losing the compass.

I visited this club in February 2020. It is the quintessential social Club.
It has gorgeous facilities in a massive historical building just steps from Trafalgar Square or the Big Ben.
It was established in 1882 by William Ewart Gladstone (leader of the Liberal Party and 4 times prime minister). For more details, I recommend to visit the homepage:
also the virtual tour is very high quality even if it may take some time to load.

I showed my introductory letter at the reception and could sign in also 2 guests.
We had lunch (without reservation) which was excellent and very reasonable. Oysters, salmon, salad, ham and melon as hors d`oeuvres, a huge roasted sole and lamb steak as main dish. (No photos in the restaurant!) Then they lit a fireplace and I could have an unforgettable business meeting while sipping afternoon tea with an incredible selection of sandwiches and scones.

Too bad the weather was rainy and windy and I could not sit at the terrace with view of the Thames and the ferris wheel.
Next time I am planning to try the billiard room (it was in use when I realized there was one) .
It is a honor to be connected with such a grand Club thanks to the affiliation I have with the Kobe Club and I am looking forward to visit again next time I am in London.
